By: Fr. Randy Figuracion, SDB

Glory to God in the highest

And peace to His people on earth.

We praise You, we bless You

We worship You, we glorify You

We give You thanks for Your great glory.

Lord God the Father almighty,

Lord Jesus Christ

The only begotten Son, Lord God,

Lamb of God, Son of God the father.

You take away the sins of the world,

Have mercy on us

You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer

You, who sit at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.

For You alone are Holy

You alone are Lord

You alone oh Jesus Christ are most high

With the Holy Spirit in the glory of God

The Father amen, amen…

Celebrant: Let us pray.

God of mercies, Your only Son, while hanging on the cross, appointed Mary, His mother, to be our mother also. Like her, and under her loving care, may Your church grow day to day, rejoice in the holiness of its children, and so attract to itself all the peoples of the earth. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

People: Amen.

LITURGY OF THE WORD

First Reading:

A reading from the book of Genesis

After Adam had eaten of the tree the Lord God called him, ‘Where are you?’ He asked. ‘I heard the sound of you in the garden,’ he replied. ‘I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.’ ‘Who told you that you were naked?’ He asked. ‘Have you been eating of the tree I forbade you to eat?’ the man replied, ‘It was the woman you put with me; she gave me the fruit, and I ate it.’ Then the Lord God asked the woman, ‘What is this you have done?’ the woman replied, ‘The serpent tempted me and I ate.’

Then the Lord God said to the serpent, ‘because you have done this, be a cursed beyond all cattle, all wild beasts. You shall crawl on your belly and eat dust everyday of you life. I will make you enemies of each other: you and the woman, your offspring and her offspring. It will crush your head and you will strike its heel.’

The man named his wife ‘Eve’ because she was the mother of all those who live

The word of the Lord.

People: Thanks be to God.

Responsorial Psalm:

Response: You are the highest honor of our race!

May you be blessed, my daughter, by God most high

            Beyond all women on earth;

And may the Lord God be blessed,

The Creator of heaven and earth.

Response: You are the highest honor of our race!

            The trust you have shown,

            Shall not pass from the memories of men;

            But shall ever remind them

            Of the power of God.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION:

R. Alleluia! Happy are you Holy Virgin Mary, deserving of all praise; from you rose the Son of justice, Christ the Lord. R. Alleluia.

ALLELUIA TO THE LAMB.

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia to the lamb

Alleluia, alleluia

By the blood of Christ we stand

Every tongue, every tribes,

Every people, every land.

Giving glory, giving honor

Giving praise unto the Lamb of God. (Rep.all)

Giving praise unto the Lamb of God.

Celebrant:  The Lord be with you.

People:      And also with you.

Celebrant:  A reading from the Holy Gospel

                   According to John.

People:      Glory to You O Lord.

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleopas, and Mary of Magdala.

Seeing His mother and the disciple He loves standing near her, Jesus said to His mother, ‘Woman, this is your son.’ Then to the disciple He said, ‘This is your mother.’ And from that moment the disciple made a place for her in his home.

The Gospel of the Lord.

People:   Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ.

HOMILY FOLLOWS

THE CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,

He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried;

He descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again;

He ascended into heaven,

And is seated at the right hand of the Father,

He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

The holy catholic church,

The communion of saints,

The forgiveness of sins,

The resurrection of the body,

And the life everlasting. Amen.
